Just as Charles and Henry Greene relied on the master craftspeople of their day, the Gamble House continues to benefit from the expertise and long-term dedication of those with a deep knowledge of their art and a passion for the nuances of material and technique. Through our new Gamble House video series, Gamble House Connect, we celebrate their work and make it available to a broader audience. Please join us for the premieres of two long-form videos that document the "Details and Joinery" and "Fire and Light" (art glass) specialty tours.

John Hamm is a glass artist with decades of study of the works of Sturdy-Lange Studios for Greene & Greene. John is a Gamble House docent of 25 years and leads two specialty tours at the Gamble House, his own "Fire and Light" tour as well as our "Behind the Velvet Ropes" tour. Through his own practice, he has explored techniques and principles of the period to create original art glass in the turn-of-the-20th-century tradition. Following the screening of the video, John will show the teaching collection that he uses during his tour to illustrate the techniques used by Sturdy-Lange Studios to create the Greenes' works of art glass.
