Who is Wellness For by Fariha Roisin
FREE – RSVP requested
Join us for our book club, Dust Jacket Journeys, where we invite you to explore perspectives around architecture, art, identity, and place.
Each gathering will offer an opportunity for exploring diverse perspectives, sharing discoveries, and the exchange of ideas which make for a meaningful reading experience. A quarterly selection of books will inspire thoughtful discussions and insights.
Divided into four sections, The Mind, The Body, Self-care, and Justice, Who is Wellness For examines Western "wellness" culture and how it exploits and appropriates traditional practices of health and healing among Indigenous, Black, and Brown peoples globally. Roisin weaves memoir and investigative journalism to explore issues of bias, commodification, and accessibility and argues that we must collectively invest in inclusionary and nurturing care for all.
