FAMILY DAY AT THE GAMBLE HOUSE
SUNDAY, OCTOBER 23, 2022 :: 11:00AM-3:00PM

Reservations for indoor tours are now filled for Family Day, but please come to enjoy the outdoor activities offered throughout the day, from 11am to 3pm.

This Sunday, the Gamble House will welcome all ages for a free day of architecture, art and exploration.

Outdoors, guided discovery sessions for young learners will explore the Gamble House through sight, touch, and sound. A local children’s author will share her own work in story time under the big oak tree, followed by a book signing. Those looking to discover or nurture their artistic side may work with California Art Club artists to create their own artwork using the architecture and gardens for inspiration (materials provided). Side Street Projects will bring their famous Woodworking Bus, where kids can work with an artist to craft their own name plate. Family-run Culichi Chips will be on-hand with delicious snack offerings for sale. Interior touring reservations are now filled. Please come to enjoy the outdoor activities and no reservations are required.

FAMILY DAY SCHEDULE OF EVENTS - No reservations are required for these activities:

  • 11:30am and 1:00pm - Nettie Neville story time and book signing on the lawn under the large oak tree.
  • 12:00pm and 1:30pm - Natalie Massa (see bio below) exterior children’s tour meets on the rear terrace of the house.

Natalie Massa Bio: Natalie (Program Director, Hand Heart Mind Arroyo) has been working in the field of Early Childhood Education for close to two decades. During her 10 years combined experience at UCLA and the Walt Disney Company, she studied contemporary educational philosophies and deepened her pedagogical skills. A chance opportunity brought her to the preschool next door in 2017, and she has been planning an intentional curriculum inspired by the Gamble House and Arroyo Seco neighborhood ever since. Now, "Hand Heart Mind Arroyo" is the small business she created in the wake of the pandemic to continue to provide quality care and enriching activities for young children through her forest school and summer camp programs.
