Join us for a special members' movie night at the Gamble House in partnership with Pasadena Audubon Society, as present "The Graduate" (1967), the iconic American romantic comedy-drama directed by Mike Nichols and based on the novel by Charles Webb.

Starring Dustin Hoffman, Anne Bancroft, and Katharine Ross, "The Graduate" follows recent college graduate Benjamin Braddock as he returns home to Pasadena, where he becomes entangled in a complicated relationship with the alluring Mrs. Robinson, only to fall in love with her daughter, Elaine. Featuring an unforgettable soundtrack by Simon & Garfunkel, including the hit song "Mrs. Robinson," the film remains one of the defining works of American cinema.

Before the screening, Pasadena Audubon Society's Jared Nigro will share insights into the film's deep connections to Pasadena and the greater Southern California landscape. His talk will explore how Pasadena's neighborhoods and architecture helped shape the film's portrayal of postwar suburban affluence and youthful uncertainty, as well as the lasting cultural impact and why its themes continue to resonate with audiences nearly sixty years after its release.

Bring a blanket, low lawn chair, and your favorite picnic fare. We'll provide complimentary popcorn.

The evening will also feature a raffle with movie-themed prizes. Raffle tickets are available for purchase in advance or at the event for $5 each or 5 for $20. Winners will be announced following Jared's presentation at 7:30 p.m. All raffle proceeds benefit the Gamble House and Pasadena Audubon Society.
